Jerry Ray Cobb
I have always been told that my forefathers came from England to the Carolinas and then to Alabama. When I was in London, England a few years back, I looked in the phone book to find hundreds of Cobb listings. My father, Craton Cobb, was born in 1892.
I dont know if i am related.i just googled myself and my name showed up on this web page.

My father was Isaac Jackson Keene, jr. son Isaac Keen who was married to Margaret Kirby before he married my grandmother (Beulah Goins Keene)The spelling was changed when some of my uncles inlisted in the army.So now it is spelled Keene.I have a copy of a letter from a relative that tells of how Pap fled from N. Great site. I thought that maybe I had found my Elizabeth Hensley. The Elizabeth Hensley #4 was born in 1785 and my Elizabeth Hensley married Micheal McGuire in Chowan CO, NC on 1/1/1800 so the Elizabeth listed as being born in 1785 would have been 15 at the time of marriage. Family researchers say she died in 1846.I am searching for the parents of Elizabeth Hensley. Have you run across this Elizabeth Hensley who married Micheal McGuire in any of your research? Thanks, Marilee

There may be an error on the Micajah Jackson page:

(1) Jarvis Jackson b: 1819 m: BARBARA TUTTLE, on 25 Oct 1831
I believe that Barbara Tuttle’s husband was actually Jackson Jarvis, (October 10, 1819 Knox Co., KY - March 01, 1894, Goose Creek, Knox Co., KY), son of Peter Jarvis and Mary Elizabeth Cobb.

(Barbara Tuttle daughter of John Tuttle and Nancy Jones-Tuttle, born September 22, 1824 in Laurel Co., KY and died March 06, 1898, married Jackson Jarvis in 1841) This may be a different Barbara Tuttle than the one listed as married to Jarvis Jackson in your site but the coincidence would be unusual. (I may be wrong - that wouldn't be unusual).

For anybody who falls into this lineage please feel free to e-mail me, I'm always looking to hear from new realatives! Thank you for such a great site!

I am the great great granddaughter of James and Emily Cottongim. Sidney was my great grandfather, Fred and Ola McKinney Cottongim my grandparents. Their daughter Elizabeth Irene is my mother. I have not found anyone researching this line before so was thrilled to find this site. I have pictures of several of these people if anyone is interested in seeing them. I live in the very northeastern corner of Oklahoma, and my daughter attended college in Parsons, KS (coincidence?) where some of the Cottongim's settled. I would be very interested in sharing information with anyone about this family. Thanks!

Wilma Cobb was my grandmothers cousin.. married to Floyd (aka General) I believe. Anyhoo.. just wanted to say how much I enjoyed coming across your web-site. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the same picture that we have in our home (of the Smith family) posted right here on this site.. I couldn't believe my eyes. Hopefully my travels will take me to London soon to see my Aunt Mandy (Bruner). Take care all.. Tammy McAfee
Nice site...I enjoyed reading names from my childhood. I am a great grandson of Thomas & Lela Sasser; grandmother is Lela Ethel Sasser Swails. HI I am Evon Carpenter's Great Grandaughter and I love your family tree which has him in it I would love it if you would allow me to copy it for my own personal self. No one but Goldy is left to tell about my ancesters and she knows some but not much. I Can say that Evon was a twin and Goldy called his dad Brownlow Carpenter where you have it George b. so I take the B is for Brownlow I know that Papaw Evon named his son my papaw George B. Carpenter. I hope you will allow me to use the info you have and thank you in advance. Also please forgive me for not giving my city and last name out I don't like doing that over the net.

Great website. I am researching the Simpson family. My ggrandmother was Sarah Simpson and she may be the one listed on website as the daughter of Elizabeth Jane Helton and Samuel Granville Simpson. I do have photographs of Sarah if anyone is interested. I have been trying to verify that they are the same. If anyone think that they might recognize a photo let me know and I will send it via e-mail. Thanks.
