This is my 3-4 visit to the site. We have much the same data. I am connected to Blaggrove and Rhonda via Seymour and Ann Byrne. Do you know of any records that go back two more generations to Blaggrove Hopper, b.1716, Virginia, possibly married to Ann or Anna? Sincerely, jh
My mother's maiden name is Janie M. Ledington born in Barbourville Ky, her mothers name was Rose Ledington. I am new to the geneolgy research and was wondering if I have stumbled across a family resource. Thanks!

I want to share this comment about Chipman Cobb's second wife
Mary Bloom Hall which came from the book "Winslow Memorial:
Family Records of Winslows and their Descendants in America"
by David P. Holton, NY:Holton, 1877, p.872.
A note from webmistress Bobbie Sue:
The FANTASTIC narration Thomas has shared
was too lengthy for the guestbook.
Find it in the "Chipman Cobb" branch,

The date for Floyd Day is incorrect. Floyd Day, the son of Samuel Day and Sarah Taylor, was born in 1903 or thereabouts. He died in March of 1965, his mother Sarah lived with his oldest brother Russell in Ohio until she died in 1969. His brother that you don't have listed was named Tilford Day and he died in 1950 in Kentucky. Floyd Day was my grandfather and he was married to Obra Smith, my father's name was Earl Day. Sam and Sarah's boys were Russell, Cecil, Floyd, and Tilford. I really enjoyed seeing the photographs. My father died in 1976, and my grandmother Obra Day (Floyd's wife) died in the 1990's. Floyd and Obra are both buried in Greenhills Memory Gardens, in Claypool Hill, VA. Thanks again for all the wonderful info.

SALLY HICKS HATFIELD
I just found this page and my mother (Mossie Curry Hicks) is going to be thrilled to see it too. My father Albert passed away Thanksgiving 2004. My grand-parents are Martha Downey and Floyd Curry. We grew up on Roots Branch, Clay County, Ky. Unfortunately, the only relatives I remember are Boosie Bundy, and her husband John Henry Helton from Wallins Creek, Ky. They were some of the finest people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. My grand-mother Martha was also reported by many to be a great lady. I am just sad I did not get the chance to meet, and enjoy her company. I think Grand-parents are great, and so are parents. I know my are. Thanks to whoever developed this site. Great work...

I note what I believe to be errors in some of the Begley lines.
Henry Begley b1734-d1802 married first Elizabeth Cook and secondly Elizabeth Pearsall Brannon. Elizabeth had a daughter by Robert Brannon, he died and she married Henry before 1769. Information to support this can be found in a court document that can be viewed at:
William Begley's date of birth was 1771. This is based on the 1850 Perry Cty, Kentucky Census listing his age as 79.
141-149 William BEGLEY, 79, M, Farmer, 2000, VA
Winney, 78, F, KY
Margaret, 78, F, KY
Also you have the date of William and Winnies marriage several years after the birth of their children, Hiram was born in 1802, see 1850 Census:
140-148 Hiram BEGLEY, 48, M, Farmer, 1000, TN
Cynthia, 33, F, KY, *
Felix, 16, M, KY, *
Jackson, 14, M, KY
Hiram, 12, M, KY
Ira, 9, M, Ky
Mary, 7, F, KY
Sarah, 5, F, KY
William, 3, M, KY
Susanna, 3, F, KY
Allen, 1, M, KY
Best Regards, Ben Begley

Wonderful Information. I just found you doing a search for Jesse James Helton son of JM and Sylvania Helton. I found Sylvania's Birth on this page. We are having trouble finding our lineage. My grandfather was raised with a different name only to find out when he applied for Social Security (on a trip to get his Social Security Card to KY from Ohio) that he was really a Helton. He was quite surprised!
Abraham Henry "Abe" Sasser and his wife Margaret Hammack Sasser, with family, did not come west in 1881 as has been stated. Their first child, born in Oregon, was Robert born in 1904. All children born before that was born in Kentucky. I am a grandson of this union by their youngest son Foy and am certain of what I have said.

Just visiting to keep up to date. Our part of the Sasser family are doing OK, so far as I know. My Grandson, Spc Travis J. Cobb is serving in Iraq with the Kansas National Guard. He is daughter Sharon (Swails)Cobb's son. Strange that a Cobb is now on the Cobb-Sasser Page. Troy Cobb, his father is originally from near Miami, OK and Springfield, MO. As Grandpa Tom Sasser would say: "Take Care." Thomas W Swails CWO-4, USAF (ret)
